Occupational Therapy Show at the NEC 2022

It has been a week since the Occupational Therapy show at the NEC and it has been amazing to continue to talk to so many incredible charities, health trusts and OTs across the UK.

At the show talking to everyone it made me realise how versatile my communication card sets could be. I am and always will be passionate about communication and finding ways to make communication more accessible. I had never considered before how these sets could be used in care homes or inpatient facilities and after speaking to so many people from different sectors I realized how important communication was and how currently there was a real issue in finding healthy ways for people to communicate who were struggling. These conversations have really spurred me onto wanting to create new sets that had some wider applications.

One of the amazing small businesses I met was samsboards, run by Andy, who sells incredible tactile sensory boards and mini sensory libraries, that are chew safe, designed to help combat anxiety and small enough to fit in your pocket or on a lanyard. Here is the unicorn sensory library square, which has become my new favourite thing, it goes on my lanyard everywhere with me. I will be working with samsboards  in the next year and will be including some of the little sensory library squares in a few of my new products and into some of the old-favourites. You can check out samsboards here: https://www.samboards.co.uk/

Since the show I am in the process of developing some new products, which I will be teasing on my blog shortly. Some new exciting sets Iā€™m in the process of finalising are some calm down sets, affirmation card sets and some new additions to the mini stimming sets amongst other things, so make sure to watch this space!
